our work against islamophobia will continue

The IRU is confident our successful work to challenge Islamophobia in the UK will continue after the government’s appointment of the British Muslim Trust (BMT) as the new reporting partner to monitor and tackle anti-Muslim hatred in the UK.

why the term islamophobia is better for us

The recent claim that the term Islamophobia is not fit for purpose and that the term anti-Muslim hatred is better to describe Islamophobia in the UK, overlooks many different forms of prejudice Muslims face in the UK today, and their root cause.

“The situation and effects of the discrimination has left me mentally crippled. I am still under GP care, on medication and trying to cope with the complexity of the situation. I can't see a way out without professional legal assistance so your help is like a lifeline for me at the moment .”

“Without this support, I would not have been able to achieve such a positive outcome. At all times I was given clear guidance and advice on the timelines and practicalities of my case, which I am truly thankful for. Not only did IRU help me achieve what I had wanted from the outset, they also provided me with peace of mind during this difficult time which was invaluable .”

“I just wanted to drop you a message with an update [ ...] After four hearings, finally the employment tribunal ruled in my favour and upheld the claims of victimisation and harassment from the company and awarded me good compensation. Thank you for your team's support in the initial stages and helping me with the without prejudice letter and explaining the next steps and how the process worked. It was a very long one but now I'm very happy to have achieved some justice .”
